Knowing what to eat to stay healthy is the key!

That's what the health coaches say, Right? Few can give you a clear road map on how to achieve this key because they focus on 1 or 2 things. Add on top of "What you are supposed to do" like family responsibilities, getting ready for an intense work week, and everyone's preferences can be huge hurdles to overcome. We all know we need to eat healthy, we all know that you have to stay consistent.

The challenge is How To Put It All Together with your sanity intact.

Not to worry! Meal prepping for your week is what will be the game changer for you to stay consistent.

Here are my top 5 tips to get you prepping and relaxing so you are not running around all week and then feeling guilty you did not do enough:

#1 - Have a system and work that system to perfection. Just like when you learned to brush your teeth or ride a bike you had to start somewhere. You perfected this over time and NOW you don't even think about it. You are on autopilot. That is what a system does.

"You do not rise to the level of your goals. You fall to the level of your systems," James Clear

#2 - Have a complete meal plan. Stop scrolling the web for a new recipe. Stop re-inventing your meals each week. Stop re-writing your shopping list. This is sabotaging you. Not to mention a huge time waste. Purchase a meal plan that will have everything outlined for the week. Ask yourself, Does it need to be gluten-free, dairy-free, low-carb, high-protein? I hear it all the time......Well, Sue, I like to be free! Freedom is great and having health problems is not freedom. I know from experience these are the people that will struggle. I do not want people to struggle. My passion is to help you succeed in this overwhelming world of preventive health care.

#3 - Have a shopping list. Going to the store is tempting. The marketers know if they can put their product in front of your face with a shiny package and unrealistic claims, then they can sell their products. A prepared shopping list will keep you on track.

#4 - Shop the day before the meal prep. Shopping is exhausting. Spending 2-3 hours in the kitchen after a grocery haul will exhaust you. You do not need to be a super person.

#5 - Prep on a Sunday (or your day off). Enlist the family or friends.

Where do people gather? Where do the best conversations happen?

The Kitchen

Talk about the food. Ask questions and don't worry about their answers. Let them explore, create, and have fun. Make sure to have the kids, significant other, grandmothers, and friends help you. Kids love to sort things and have them sort the food into containers. Elderly people want to be useful. Have them help chop vegetables, wash dishes, and fold the dish towels. It becomes a fun family friend activity.
